What is the minimum contract period?
With TimeBureau, there is no minimum contract period: you pay just one month at a time (at the beginning of the month), and can stop the service at any time just by stopping paying (though in practice we do ask you to notify us so we can terminate the service cleanly in a way that helps both parties).

What happens if my hardware terminal goes wrong in the first 12 months?
Well we doubt this will happen, since our equipment is built with the highest quality components. In fact we are so confident that our products will not malfunction so soon due to a manufacturing defect that not only will we exchange your reader for a new one we will also give you a free month’s subscription.

What about after 12 months?
Again this is very unlikely: in our experience far less than 1% of our hardware goes wrong due to a manufacturing defect during the first 5 years. But in the unlikely event it does go wrong due to a manufacturing fault during the first 3 years we will repair your reader for free. If it is not down to a manufacturing fault and provided it only shows signs of fair wear and tear, then we will replace for a fixed fee.

Is my data safe?
Yes we store your data securely within the EU to comply with the Data Protection Act.

Can I use biometrics for my school?
Yes, you can! the TimeBureau system uses finger and/or face profiling so no fingerprint or face image is stored, though you will still need to get written permission from a parent or guardian to permit its use. You will also have to show that you can offer an alternative method should the permission be refused, fortunately all our readers are both biometric and card enabled, unlike those of most of our competitors.

What happens to the clockings if our internet connection goes down?
Great question, the device will keep operating as normal storing up to 10,000 entries. As soon as the internet connection comes back, all the clockings will be automatically uploaded to our system.

What if I don’t have an internet connection at the location I want to use the reader?
You have a few options: the standard solution can still be used and you can use the device to store the clockings and then take the device to somewhere with an internet connection periodically to download clockings or we can provide alternative solutions that will communicate with our system but this depends on a number of environmental factors. We have a solution for almost all eventualities. Please call to discuss your particular situation.

I have 20 sites with 5 employees at each site, some employees are permitted to work at all sites but others may not. Can I control where they can clock in?
Yes you can! This is a standard part of our system. It can even alert you if an employee clocks in at the wrong site.
